Off the Hooks and Needles
I looked back and realized I hadn’t posted in a while. I may not have been typing, but I have been crafting! Here are some of the items I have finished recently.
Over Christmas I had some custom orders.
A friend sent me a couple of pictures and asked if I could make these scarves. One had a pattern link, the other was from a department store. The design looked uncomplicated so I ordered the pattern for the other and got started. Here are the 2 scarves:
The one on the left is called the Braided Inifinity Scarf but at the moment I cannot find the pattern to tell you who designed it. I will keep looking.
The one on the right is another inifinity scarf, this onw without a pattern. Just sc and dc rows alternating colors.
I made a couple of converse style slippers from a pattern by Sharon Elizabeth designs:
At the beginning of the year I decided I wanted to work with just my stash for a while and TRY not to purchase yarn. I then saw a pattern for a pretty baby blanket I liked. I found a couple skeins in the drawers and got started.
The pattern can be found on Ravelry. It is called “Tiramisu Baby Blanket”.
I intended to use a pretty braided ribbon I found. The spool read 16’ but when I got home I found someone had cut it down to 2 1/2 BUMMER!!!
So……. in the meantime I tested a pattern for a newborn dress. It is on Ravelry by Kari Philpott and is called “Lacy Shell Dress”.
I put the unusable ribbon around the bodice and added a small bow in the color of the blanket to the dress. I then used the same color as the dress to make a ribbon and bow on the blanket. I added a bear I had made several months ago in a similar color and my Liz Middleton looked happy.
I then checked my pattern stash and added a diaper cover using the 2 colors. The diaper cover is called “Double Crochet Diaper Cover” by Studio412 Boutique. The Booties are from the bundlesoflove.org website and are called “Ruth’s Crochet Set: Booties”
Voile! A complete newborn set ready for a baby shower.
Right now I am working a on knit baby sweater and a crochet baby sweater to use in a stitch along. Stay tuned for details on that.
Back to the yarn stash!
