Knit-Out 2008: Pictures Part 2

There is so much to see you can’t get it all in one pass by. Lines were long as everyone wanted to see the newest pattern releases and to get new project ideas. OK, they also wanted the give aways. We rested awhile then moved on.

Knit-Out 2008: Pictures Part 1

Day 1 of the Knit-Out was quite exciting.  As I posted earlier, Purl was busy posing for the camera at the various vendor booths.   She certainly felt she was “Queen of the Mall” that day. She wanted to play “Where is Purl” among the fibers.
We started the day at the poster and began our walk.  [...]

Hands to Heart: sharing and caring for cancer patients

While at Knit-Out 2008 I had the pleasure of meeting Tara Lacher  .  We were gathered with a group of knitters at the hotel preparing for day 1. She was sitting there, full of smiles, knitting a pink scarf. Her story was very interesting as she told how she learned to knit and then she [...]

Knit-Out 2008: February 16, Day 1

What a day. If you have never been to the Mall of America let me see if I can describe it. It is large enough to hold 32 Boeing 747s. It is as large as 7 Yankee Stadiums put together. The mall employs 11,000 people year round and 13,000 during holiday seasons and summers. On [...]

Anyway, passed through [...]

Knit-Out in one more day

Left Kansas City yesterday with temps in 40s. Arrived in Des Moines where there is snow everywhere and temps near 0.  As I look at the weather map the further north we go the colder it gets. I don’t think I will be moving up this way any time soon but I am excited for [...]

I will be busy with the Knit-Out, volunteering to teach crochet to beginners on both Saturday and Sunday. The group has a [...]

Open Weave Scarf

My daughter called for a scarf she could wrap around her face while standing outside at recess with her class. She doesn’t want a claustrophobic feeling. A quick headband would also be needed to keep her ears warm.
The scarf idea came from bekah at ravelry.
For the scarf, using size 13 needles I [...]

In the News(letter)

I have just started and posted my first "Knit in Prayer" newsletter.  You are invited to check it out.   This month features a story about a tangled mess of yarn and a link to a free pattern to make an iPod Hoodie.  I hope to continue each month with a scriptural object lesson, a pattern [...]
