Decoupage Dropped Ceiling or Wall

After painting my kitchen and adding a border at chair rail height the dropped ceiling area over the cabinets appeared too bland. My mother-in-law came to visit and I was able to tap into her creative mind. We decided to decoupage that area.

I wanted a coffee and tea motif so to start I found pictures of each in magazines and ads  which I scanned then printed out on resume paper. I chose rpaint.JPGesume paper instead of regular copy paper because of its texture. Using different photo programs I was able to crop and make several different sizes of prints.

Each printed picture was cut and sprayed with a clear COLORPLACE Spray Paint found at WalMart. Spray the front and back of the paper.

In an effort to determine look and sizes needed we laid the pieces out on a table to.  Then one by one wallpaper paste was added to each print that was then attached to the dropped ceiling area.

Because we sprayed the front of the printed pages I did not add any sealant after it was pasted on. It has been a year and so far this has not been a problem. You, however, may choose to seal these in some way.

Here is the finished look!
