Fan And Feather Scarf
I had been practicing the Fan and Feather stitch and made this attractive scarf. I plan to make more in different yarns but this particular one is made with Red Heart Super Saver yarn. It looks nice but is not extra soft.
The pattern that follows is simply putting a small border around the Fan and Feather stitch.
Size 7 needles
4 1/2 ounces Red Heart Super Saver yarn, color of your choice
Cast on 22 stitches
Row 1 Knit across
Row 2 Knit
(this makes an outside border)
Begin pattern:
Pattern Row 1: Knit across
Pattern Row 2: K2 Purl to last 2, K2
Pattern Row 3: K2, K2tog(3X), YO K1(6X), K2tog(3X), K2
Pattern Row 4: Knit across
Repeat pattern until 60″ or desired length
After pattern knit row, Finish with 2 rows Knit across (for outside border)
BO, weave in yarn ends
You probably also noted the K2 at the beginning and end of each row in the pattern, this continues the outside border.
I like a lot of detail and explanation when I work a pattern so I tend to offer additional information when I explain a pattern.
It is time to get started on those Christmas gifts. Make several of these in various colors and yarns to please those on your gift list.
