Knit-Out 2008: Final thoughts

Two days surrounded by people who love to knit and crochet was fun and informative. Many of the visitors and vendors stayed at the same hotel I did. A room was set aside so we could gather with our projects any time. I joined in each evening and had a great time listening to the stories told by other crafters, learning new techniques and sharing a cup of tea.

Along with all the vendor booths I also met up with people from "Hands to Hearts" from the "Mother Bear Project" and also "Warm Up America" .  Each of these are non-profit organizations featuring hand-made items. Any of these would be a charitable outlet for your knitted and crocheted items.

I met many interesting people. Minneapolis is certainly not the first place I would volunteer to go to in February, but I am certainly glad that I did.  Driving back to Kansas City was slow as snow blew across the road and there were icy patches, but Reed is an excellent driver.  I was intrigued by the rainbow that was off to the right and visible each time the snow cleared. I believe it was a sign from God guiding us safely home. We arrived, tired yet energized. Here are some Iowa sky pictures of the trip home.
