Attention Deficit Knitter
I have a serious problem. I am certain there is no medication for it at this time. I am, it is hard to admit but here goes. I am an attention deficit knitter. I didn’t realize how serious how I tried to clean out the craft closet. Here I found a number of project in process, then I looked around the house and several other projects called my name. I must accept that I have a problem.
You see, I am creative but I don’t envision a project and see it in my mind’s eye completed. I start with an idea, then I get started. As I proceed a thought, or vision, or word or picture or email (as you can see there is no exact answer at this point) sends my mind into another idea. From there I may proceed with what I am doing or grab another set of needles and start another. This continues on until……….
2 teddy bears in near complete stages I was supposed to finish and turn in to a contest 2 months ago.
Dora the Explorer, I got the the body done but am not good with faces so I moved on to her clothes which didn’t fit well but did, however, fit a teddy bear I finished so I started some more clothes for the teddy bear.
2 crochet hats I did finish. One a wide brimmed straw hat by Lion Brand and the other a Lily Chin Easter hat. Too bad one is too large for my head and the other too small.
Several Barbie dresses being knitted for my nieces.
5 knitted bears in various stages of completion. One I am trying to joint; one I ran out of yarn and a wonderful reader sent me the necessary yarn to complete, one I lost the pattern, another I thought I try to create my own pattern got lost in the stash and the last one (I hope there are no more in there) is all in pieces.
A baby blanket I decided to make up a pattern for, ran out of yarn, bought more yarn which I added to the bag, forgot to knit any more.
Baby hats, 3 I think are on needles and awaiting some personal attention.
A scarf I made because as I was walking past the clearance aisle in Joanns. CLICK HERE for Joann.com I saw a skein of Debbie Mum yarn marked way down and thought I just had to take home. Then once I got it home I had to try it out. But at least I finished the scarf; I just need to go back for another skein to make a matching pair of wrist warmers.
A sweater I am making for my husband.
A sweater I decided to start for myself.
I can’t tell you any more. Yes, there are more. I just can’t face telling you any more.
Being an attention deficit knitter is not all bad. I am close on so many projects I may have your gift ready soon if you invite me
Check out some of these links if you’d like to add to your illness. I mean your stash. Yes, that’s it. I am just adding to my stash of soon to be ready gift items for the upcoming holiday season.
